The Highland Book Prize | Duais Leabhair na Gàidhealtachd • 5th March 2019 The Highland Book Prize I was selected as a first reader for entries to the 2022 Highland Book Prize. The prize celebrates ‘the finest published work that recognises the rich talent, landscape, and cultural diversity of the Scottish Highlands.’ It is open to work in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
Kellogg College • 16th December 2021 Circle and Arc I participated in this event - a showcase of award-winning writers from around the world who have studied on the MSt in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford - by giving a reading.
The Hungry Chapter • 6th January 2021 The Hungry Chapter The Hungry Chapter was a multimedia project hosted via social media and live events which explored food writing and sensory memory. I provided the vignettes and hosted the creative writing workshops.
TRACE • 17th November 2020 Transnational Literature As part of the Transnational Literature and Writing Conference: Follow the Sun, 28th-30th January, 2021 - I gave a 15 minute reading of an extract from a creative nonfiction essay called 'Noise', followed by a Q&A.
Litro Magazine • 29th September 2020 A High-Tech Ancient Stillness I conducted an interview with Pico Iyer for the now defunct Litro Magazine podcast, produced by Inés Labarta. In the interview Pico and I discussed the Japanese ‘art island’ of Naoshima, an ultra-modern installation with its roots deeply in the past.
