I am a fiction and creative nonfiction writer.
I hold the MSt in Creative Writing, with distinction, from the University of Oxford. I have explored various
topics in my stories and essays, such as language and identity,
Palestine, and orthodontics. My work has been published - in English
and Spanish - in magazines and anthologies in the UK, Australia, the
USA and Spain. In 2019 I was nominated for the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award.
I work as an editor at Santillana, a large publisher based in Madrid, Spain. I am a Visiting Professor at Bath Spa University, working as a volunteer editor on the journal Transnational Literature. I am part of the peer review panel for the Artist’s Book Yearbook, published annually by Book Arts at the University of the West of England, Bristol.
For one year I was the creative nonfiction editor at Litro Magazine and in 2019 I
completed an editorial internship at Creative Nonfiction magazine, based
in Pittsburgh, USA. I also worked as a mentor with Fusion Arts, giving sessions to young people in vulnerable situations who are interested in creative writing. I was a volunteer first reader for the Highland Book Prize for the 2022 awards.
I am from the UK but I currently live in Madrid. Here in Madrid I
help to run creative writing group for writers who use English as their primary
literary language.
